ANTIQUES: Fine 19th century Southern Walnut secretary desk from Abbeville County, made on the farm of John Randolph Harrison, and remaining in the family to this day. Also tripod candlestand, Hepplewhite style armchair etc.
ALSO OF NOTE: More than a dozen pieces of beautiful, well-cared-for mid-century modern furniture by such companies as Thayer Coggin, Broyhill, Basic Witz and others. Other furniture includes sofas, upholstered armchairs, kitchen furniture, porch furniture, coffee table, king bed, single bed, chests of drawers, desk, custom dining table that will seat 8 or 10, occasional tables and more.
ACCESSORIES include several original paintings, beautiful lamps, early 20th century needle-etched glassware and a library of old books, including a rare first edition of “Greenwood County Sketches” by Margaret Watson, Attic Press, 1970. Just found: an even rarer book, “The History of the South Carolina Military Academy 1783-1892 by John P. Thomas, published in 1893 by Walker, Evans and Cogswell.
ALSO: Kitchenalia, many decorative smalls, a piece of Acoma southwest pottery, silverplate and some sterling.
Just discovered: a collection of mid-century art pottery by such makers as Royal Haeger, Vee Jackson of California, Jaap Ravelli, Red Wing and more. Also, a small collection of flower frogs including a vintage wire frog by the Blue Ribbon Flower Holder Co. of Cuyahoga Falls.
Card tables and sets of folding chairs, wood file cabinet, lots of table linens, old pressed glass including a cake server by Fostoria in “American” pattern. Large TV, radios, clocks, designer handbags, 20+ pairs of shoes in fine condition in size 8 ˝.
This should be a very good sale. The house is not large, so we’ll be monitoring the flow of traffic and using numbers, at least for the first day. You may arrive early and take a number, then return at 9 am for the opening.
